The fate of the Israeli soldier Shalit captured by HJamas remains at the centre of Israeli politics, and especially of the “truce” with Hamas which Olmert supports.
The parents of Shalit brought a case concerning the truce and the release of their son to the Israeli High Court
[start quote here]
The captive soldier’s parents had argued before the court that the Security Cabinet and the Prime Minister, whose decisions Gilad carried out, promised that an agreement with Hamas would be conditioned on their son’s release. The state argued that the deal with Hamas will bring about Shalit’s release, but only after the Gaza crossings are opened.

The parents of Shalit argued that the seige be maintained until Shalit is released. The Government argued that it was the truce that would lead to the release of Shalit. That is the essence of the matter. This therefore places the spotlight on Olmert to show how and what they are doing to get the release of Shalit.
But that is only on the surface. What the traitor Olmert will now propose is to enter into negotiations with Hamas and will involve a scandalous exchange of prisoners, where Olmert will propose hundreds of Hamas Jew Hating Killers will go free in exchange for one Israeli soldier.
In other words it is a trap for the Jewish people as a whole and all part of the overall betrayal of the Jews by Olmert.
And what about the truce with Hamas, now in its fifth day? How this truce will end is already being prefigured in the events of these 5 days. Hamas and the PA terrorist groups have decided that the truce does not just limit itself to Gaza but also to all of Judea and Samaria. Note that is their decision, not that of Egypt, and certainly not that of Israel. They are good at this sort of thing. And what has happened shows that war is coming and Hamas are using the truce to rearm.

In an overnight operation in Shechem involving IDF units and the General Security Services (Shabak), two terrorists were shot dead in the course of an attempt to apprehend them. One of the dead men was a senior operative of Islamic Jihad in Jenin, Tarik Jumea Ahmed Abu Jali. A search of Abu Jali’s house turned up a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, including explosive devices, an AK-47 assault rifle and other military equipment.
The Bethlehem-based Maan news agency identified the second terrorist as a prominent leader of Hamas’s Al-Quds Brigades. IDF sources said one of the terrorists was planning an attack on Israeli targets.
The incident was the first counterterrorist action in Judea and Samaria involving live fire since the temporary ceasefire agreed upon between Israel and Hamas went into effect last Thursday. The ceasefire officially covers only the Gaza region and not Judea and Samaria.
In other operations, IDF soldiers apprehended eight terrorists during the night between Monday and Tuesday, one in Jenin, five in and around Bethlehem, and two north of Kiryat Arba-Hevron.
Islamic Jihad spokespeople warned that they would end their ceasefire with Israel in the wake of the IDF’s Shechem operation. Gaza terrorist groups previously said they were unilaterally extending the Gaza truce to include Judea and Samaria and would consider IDF actions there a violation

It will not be reported in the Western Media but it is vital to place on record that the first shell in these 5 days has been fired on Israel by Arabs:

Before the Islamic Jihad threats, an unnamed terrorist cell in PA-controlled Gaza fired a mortar shell at Jewish communities in the western Negev on Monday night, prior to the IDF operation against jihadists in Shechem. The shelling violated the ceasefire, meant to last six months, less than one week after it was undertaken…In an overnight operation in Shechem involving IDF units and the General Security Services (Shabak), two terrorists were shot dead in the course of an attempt to apprehend them. The great danger to Israel is not from these terror groups but from the Israeli Jewish leadership itself. The Olmert Government are going to insist that the truce is operational no matter how many rockets the Arabs will fire into Israel, on the basis that it is better than before. Meanwhile Hamas will simply proceed to organize and prepare for total war, and take care to equip themselves with rocketry which can hit any part of Israel. This is what has happened in the North where the International Force composed of people like the Spanish and French have allowed the Hizbullah to gear up with powerful rocketry which can hit now all parts of Israel.
The analysis of Caroline Glick in the articles we have highlighted is proving to be spot on. The only answer is to immediately remove Olmert and place in power a government pledged to oppose right down the line a Palestine Jihadist state.
