The US and Britain side with the opposition to Muammar Gadhafi. Same as Mubarak, Gadhafi had become a friend and ally of the west in conflict with Al Qaeda and had been for 10 years. The opposition to Gadhafi is laced with Muslim Brotherhood and even Al Qaida. NATO is bombing Tripoli and British tronadoes is are bombing Tripoli.

David Cameron has met the head of Libya’s National Transitional Council, Abdul Jalil, at Downing Street.
The Prime Minister said that the UK would provide millions of pounds worth of equipment to police in the besieged city of Benghazi.
Mr Cameron said he had invited the council to establish a formal presence in London. Mr Jalil thanked the British people for their support.
