el Sisi in Egypt against Morsi should be supported (critically)

As I understand it this is in no way an attempt to reform Islam. There is no “reformation” here. Islam is based on the words in the Quran and indeed cannot be changed or reformed in any way. So what is happening in Egypt under el Sisi is something different.

 

What many overlook is the historical perspective in relation to Fascism. As I understand Leon Trotsky on Fascism, Fascism was not some accidental development, but arose when the ruling capitalist class in any particular country moved away from forms of parliamentary democracy towards rule without parliament.

 

the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt took power by means of parliamentary elections but the great majority of Egyptians knew that Morsi was moving away from parliamentary democracy in order to introduce Sharia Law, which is a form of Fascism in our era.

 

So the mass of the Egyptian people rebelled against Morsi and that is the reason for the great popularity of el Sisi, not because el Sisi is a great democrat.

The Egyptian government has stepped up a campaign to curb Muslim Brotherhood influence over mosques, Reuters reported on Thursday.

The government said it has licensed more than 17,000 state-approved clerics to give Friday sermons to stop places of worship from falling “into the hands of extremists,” according to the report.

The military-backed authorities have been trying to bring mosques under tighter control since the army toppled Mohammed Morsi of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood last July.

All of the newly-approved clerics have been trained at Al-Azhar University, which is a respected center of Sunni Islamic learning, and institutions run by the ministry of religious endowments, according to a statement issued by the prime minister’s office on Thursday.

“That is to strengthen the ministry’s supervision over all Egypt’s mosques so that they do not fall into the hands of extremists and the unqualified” and to prevent mosques being used for “party or sectarian” purposes, it said, according to Reuters.

Last September, the religious endowments minister said unlicensed clerics would be barred from delivering sermons at mosques – long a recruiting ground for Islamist parties.

The government statement said the ministry of religious endowments had taken “a big step” towards addressing a shortfall in “qualified preachers.”

Since Morsi’s ouster, more than 1,400 people have died in street clashes and thousands have been imprisoned. 

Hundreds of Islamists have been placed on trial and some already given death sentences, a move which was criticized by the international community.

With Sharia law de-emphasized, Egyptian Christians “cautiously optimistic” about draft constitution (thanks to Robert Spencer) December 14, 2013

Egypt’s new draft constitution, to be voted on in a national referendum in January, is being hailed for its improvements over the 2012 Islamist-backed constitution. But the new constitution still has a number of shortcomings on religious and personal freedoms, according to concerned Egyptian Christians and human rights groups.

“Personally I’m cautiously optimistic,” said Halim Meawad, co-founder of Coptic Solidarity, a U.S.-based international Coptic Christian human rights organization.

 

Meawad said the draft constitution is an improvement over the Muslim Brotherhood constitution of 2012, particularly with elimination of Article 219, which defined aspects of Sharia law on which legislation could be based. Article 219 and other aspects of the 2012 constitution led many liberal and Christian leaders to boycott the Muslim Brotherhood government, eventually culminating in popular protests and the military’s ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.

 

The new draft, by removing Article 219, eliminates the political authority that Al-Azhar University, Egypt’s highest Islamic institution, had over the legislative process.

 

“The new draft maintains the position of Sharia in social conscience, but prevents any infringements on constitutional jurisdiction,” Adel Ramadan, legal affairs official at local NGO the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights, told Ahram Online.

 

Nevertheless, controversial aspects still remain in the draft constitution, including Article 2, which states that the principles of Islamic Sharia are “the main source of legislation.”

 

“The infamous Article 2, declaring the principles of Sharia to be the primary source for legislation, is still there like a sword drawn and can be used against non-Muslims at any time and in any situation,” Meawad told JNS.org.

 

Meawad explained that Article 2 goes back to former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, who included it to gain the support of Islamists.

 

“Article 2 introduced by President Sadat in 1971 to create an Islamic base for himself…Ever since, this article was used by authorities, including the judicial system, to discriminate against non-Muslims, especially Copts, despite the facts that other articles in the same constitution gives all the freedom of religion,” Meawad said.

 

Egyptian Christians and liberals on the constitutional committee attempted to remove all mentions of Sharia law from the constitution. But the ultraconservative Salafi party, Al-Nour, insisted the mention of Sharia law remain, albeit in a watered-down version.

 

“Dr. Safwat al-Baiady and other Christian members of the constitutional committee made a weak attempt to change Article 2 because they knew very well that it is a mission impossible,” Meawad said.

 

Another change in the draft constitution is Article 235, which addresses the longstanding complaint about the difficulty Egyptian Christians faced in constructing new churches. While church construction was permitted under President Hosni Mubarak, it required special permission from him or from the prime minister.

 

Under the new draft, Article 235 authorizes the Egyptian parliament to “organize building and renovating churches, guaranteeing Christians the freedom to practice their religious ritual.”

 

“Christians have freedom of belief and practice,” Safwat al-Baiady, president of the Protestant Churches of Egypt and a member of the constitutional committee, told Christianity Today. “And for the first time in the history of Egypt’s constitutions, building churches becomes a right.”

 

The new Article 235 will allow many of Egypt’s Christians the opportunity to rebuild dozens of churches destroyed by the wave of violence by Islamic extremists in mid-August.

 

Amnesty International, which has been vocally critical of attacks on Egypt’s Christians, said in a report that the new constitution was a step in the right direction, but that it “still falls short of Egypt’s international human rights obligations.”

 

“Unfortunately there is a glaring inconsistency between the aspirations in the draft, and the reality of ongoing human rights violations in Egypt,” Amnesty International said.

 

“There is no guarantee that this inconsistency will go away. I was hoping for, or I should say dreaming of, a true secular and modern constitution with no contradictions between its articles,” Meawad told JNS.org.

 

Despite the fact that Sharia law is still mentioned in the draft, Coptic Christian Pope Tawadros II endorsed the constitution and has urged followers to vote for it in the upcoming referendum in January, saying that participation is their duty. Ultimately, the draft should be accepted because it “could have been much worse,” Meawad said.

An Israeli soldier was killed by a Lebanese Army sniper on the country’s border with Lebanon, Jonny Daniels, an external adviser to Israel’s Deputy Minister of Defense told The Algemeiner.

The sniper opened fire at an Israeli vehicle at the border, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said earlier about the incident.

“One of the Lebanese soldiers shot 6 or 7 bullets towards an Israeli patrol… and hit and killed one of the Israeli soldiers,” Daniels said. “The army are investigating the motive for the attack.”

The Times of Israel reported that the IDF returned fire, and that “troops who witnessed the incident reportedly saw other Lebanese Armed Forces personnel converge on the gunman after he opened fire.”

Qutb was the associate of Hajj Amin el Husseini, leader of the Palestinian Arabs. That fact is critical. More on this site later about el Husseini and what his bearing is today on the PLO and Hamas, and the way Israel must fight.

It happens very often in political struggle that you have to take sides. In this issue there is absolutely no way to sit on the fence and hope things will blow over.

You must come out in the open and state your position.

The majority of Egyptian society is pro Sharia and is Antisemitic. This is a fact. Yet the army is clamping down on the Muslim Brotherhood of Qutb. This clamping down in every respect is totally progressive.

On that issue you cannot sit on the fence.

CAIRO — Egyptian security forces firing tear gas and water cannons on Friday broke up anti-government demonstrations by Islamists defying a draconian new law restricting protests.

Authorities are seeking to put down unrest by both Islamists and secular activists as a government-appointed assembly tries to finish a final draft on an amended constitution by early next week. The draft has raised criticism from democracy advocates for increasing powers of the military and president.

Since a popularly backed military coup ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi in July, his supporters have been staging near-daily protests calling for his reinstatement. The rallies have often descended into street clashes with security forces or civilians.

To quash pro-Morsi rallies, which have persisted despite a heavy security crackdown, the military-backed government issued the law Sunday banning protests without a police permit. On Thursday, a student was killed when police put down a march by Islamists from Cairo University.

Instead, the law has sparked new protests by Egypt’s secular activists, who had been largely muted since the ouster of Morsi. They accuse the government of giving free rein to police abuses and military power that they had aimed to end with the 2011 uprising that toppled longtime autocrat Hosni Mubarak.

They say the law aims to silence all dissent — particularly ahead of a nationwide referendum on the amended constitution expected in January.

The past week, security forces have forcefully broken up several protests by secular activists in Cairo. Police also arrested one of the top secular activists, Alaa Abdel-Fattah, on Thursday for allegedly inciting protests in violation of the law. His wife, Manal Bahy Eldin, also an activist, said police beat her during the arrest.

On Friday, prosecutors ordered Abdel-Fattah detained for four days for investigation, according to Mohammed Abdel Aziz, a member of his legal defense team.

A 50-member panel is amending the Morsi-era constitution drafted mainly by Islamists and passed in December. After months of sessions, largely held behind closed doors, the panel is scheduled to vote on a final draft Saturday — but one member, liberal political Mohammed Aboul-Ghar said it may be delayed until Sunday as final controversial articles are worked out.

The panel is supposed to finish its work by Tuesday, under a declaration issued by interim President Adly Mansour soon after the July 3 coup.

The pending referendum could further fuel a backlash. The Islamists reject the entire amendment process and are likely to launch protests against it. Secular activists, meanwhile, are likely to hold their own protests against a charter they say will enshrine military power in politics.

One amendment requires the military’s approval of the president’s choice for defense minister. The measure effectively allows the military to choose its own leader, giving it considerable independence from the elected, civilian president.

Another article, preserved from the Morsi-era constitution, allows for civilians to be tried in military courts in cases connected to violence toward military facilities or personnel.

Aboul-Ghar said the panel had agreed to remove a controversial article inserted into the 2012 constitution that critics feared would allow a stricter implementation of Shariah law in Egypt.

The article gave a stronger definition to the term “principles of Islamic law,” on which Article 2 of the document says legislation must be based. Article 2, which has been in the constitution since the 1970s, will remain in place.

Islamist supporters of Morsi held their latest rallies around the country and in multiple parts of Cairo, most of them numbering in the hundreds. Ten people were wounded in clashes and 183 arrested, according to emergency services and the Interior Ministry.

In Cairo’s twin city of Giza, police fired volleys of tear gas to disperse protesters, who burned tires, according to footage of the scene from Associated Press TV. Anti-Islamist residents joined security forces in chasing the Morsi supporters, hurling stones and bottles at them.

Police fired tear gas or water cannons on other Islamist marches in Cairo, the Mediterranean city of Alexandria and the canal city of Suez.

In one protest in eastern Cairo, Islamists chanted, “Down with all killers, down with Abdel-Fattah” referring to army chief Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, who ousted against Morsi.

“We don’t care about the protest law whatsoever,” said Ashraf Abdel-Wahhab, who was participating in a Cairo protest with his wife and eight children. “This is not the first time they attack marches or kill protesters. It’s just a cover that they’re using.”

Secular activists did not hold rallies Friday, aiming to avoid association with the Islamists. The activists oppose the Islamists, seeing them as equally undemocratic as the new government — and are wary of being tainted as pro-Brotherhood at a time when a large swath of the public remains eager to crush Islamists.

“Friday is the Brotherhood’s day,” Mohammed Adel, a leading member of the secular activist group April 6, told the AP. “Even if we had the same cause, we will not protest with them.”

Meanwhile, Muslim residents of a village in southern Minya province attacked Christian homes, burning 10 houses and wounding 15 Christians, including a 15 year-old girl thrown from the third floor of a building, according to Ezzat Ibrahim, an activist who monitors minority rights.

Ibrahim said the attack was instigated by rumors of a love affair between a local Christian man and a Muslim woman — a factor that can often spark sectarian clashes.

The Guardian reports:

Egypt’s president-elect Mohamed Morsi has vowed to free the blind sheikh jailed in the US for a plot to blow up New York City landmarks.

In his first public speech, addressing tens of thousands of people in Tahrir Square, Morsi promised to work to free Omar Abdel-Rahman, the spiritual leader of men convicted in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

But! But! How can this be? Surely the Muslim Brotherhood is a pragmatic moderate forward looking Islamist movement, and not in any sense a whisper away from Al Qaeda.

I just wonder how long the US is going to continue to pay for this. Why should it?

I bet that is precisely what Romney’s line is going to be during the upcoming election campaign. What possible answer can Obama give that will play well with the electorate?

This has taken a new turn in the coming to power of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt with Morsi as just elected and announced President, and with the Egyptian Army deciding not to stop the Muslim Brotherhood, not actually ever wanting to tangle with the Muslim Brotherhood, and so allowing the Muslim brotherhood to take power of the state, state power, in this case, which is a state power taken by the Muslim Brotherhood through a Parliamentary Election, but remember this is exactly the same way that Hitler and the Nazis took power in 1933 in Germany.

 

Whatever Morsi will say about being for peace and as he plays a game working with US and EU Imperialism, he is telling lies. The real aim of the Muslim Brotherhood is written into the Constitution of Hamas, which is the Arab Palestinian wing of the Muslim rotherhood.

 

In that Constitution also known as the Hamas Charter there is an open call for the killing of all Jews on earth, just as there was in Mein Kamph.

 

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt will likewise set out to kill all minorities and non Muslims in Egypt. Directly in the firing line of the Muslim Brotherhood here in Egypt will be first and foremost the Copts, who are Christian Arabs, going back to the time of the birth of Christianity, and some 600 years before Islam.

 

There is also a great crisis within Jewish or Zionist leaders. Just this past week gone, a few days ago, Pamela Geller and her organizational website was stopped holding an event and rally which had been publicised for months by a Jewish organization. They simply cancelled the event at the last minute under pressure from CAIR, which is the American Branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, and also under pressure from rich Jewish donors to the campaigns of this Jewish organization.

 

So a woman, Pamela Geller, a Zionist and a Jewish campaigner, who fights against the take over of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and calls it for exactly what it is, is attackled by a Jewish organization in America.

I have seen Geller attacked continually by British Jews on Harry’s Place.

 

I also have experienced this. I have been prevented from speaking by journalists at a radio station in Spain called Talk Radio Europe. This station is actually owned by a Jewish Spanish man. The reasons for blocking me are roughly the same as that of against Pamela Geller.

 

Thus there is a great crisis in general inside the Jewish leaders of Zionism.

 

For many years I have commented on Israpundit which is controled by a Jewish person called Ted Belman. In recent weeks I have had my comments totally removed by Belman the editor.

 

At the top of his blog Israpundit Belman is calling for an Arab Spring for Jordan. This is another great betrayal.

 

Apart from Geller I never saw one clear call by any Jewish leader for Jews to defend Mubarak against the Muslim Brotherhood.

 

Geller must now know the truth of what we have been saying and what we say now. You cannot move forward a single inch without the most intense and ruthless struggle against these Jewish traitors of the Jewish people.

 

The growing censoring of my remarks on Israpundit by Belman is not one little bit different to the dreadful betrayal of Geller by her fellow Jews in California last week.

The IDF is taking extra precautions and preparing a firm but non-lethal response to any attempt to force the nation’s borders in the coming days, as Palestinians plan mass marches to mark Arab losses in the Six Day War.

IDF units have dug a barbed-wire-protected trench along the Golan Heights security fence at Majdal Shams, Israel Radio reported.

Residents of the Druse village have been instructed not to approach the fence, which some 100 Syrians crossed on May 15 in a dramatic cross-border breach.

Near Moshav Avivim, troops have fortified the border fence with Lebanon and set up new lookout posts, the radio station reported.

The IDF Northern Command has ordered soldiers on the Syrian and Lebanese borders to follow the usual rules of engagement before opening fire. They are instructed to shout warnings at protesters approaching the border, then, should those instructions be ignored, to fire warning shots in the air, a military source said on Wednesday.

If marchers continue to approach the fence, troops are ordered to direct nonlethal fire at their lower bodies, the source said.

“We could also use tear gas and stun grenades. But we won’t tolerate the idea that our international borders will become like Bil’in,” the source said.

Bil’in is a village near Modi’in Illit and the site of Friday protests in which the West Bank security barrier is routinely damaged.

“We are talking about protecting our international borders,” the source said. “We won’t let the other side get its wish and have 70 people killed…

We have no intention of letting Syria and Lebanon use these incidents to delegitimize Israel.”

An extensive campaign on Facebook and other Internet forums is calling for marches on Israel’s borders with Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Gaza, and for Arabs in Israel, the West Bank and Jerusalem to converge on the Aksa Mosque to declare their “allegiance” to the city. Three separate but similar rallies are planned for this Friday, Sunday and Tuesday, with Sunday – the anniversary of the war’s outbreak in 1967 – expected to draw the largest crowds.

An IDF officer told The Associated Press this week that the army would set “red lines” for demonstrators and would provide troops with crowd-control tools such as rubber bullets and water cannons to handle “life-threatening situations.”

The official said the army would be better equipped to handle protests than it was two weeks ago, when on “Nakba Day” – the annual Palestinian day of mourning over Israel’s creation – at least 10 people were killed on the Lebanese and Syrian borders while trying to enter the country.

The most active group organizing the rallies on “Naksa Day” – the day of the Arab “setback” in 1967 – calls itself Third Palestinian Intifada. The group’s Facebook page features a clock counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds beneath a banner reading “June 7.”

The page has been removed by Facebook several times for inciting violence, only to return under a slightly different name. Since going back up in April, the site has amassed some 375,000 followers.

Lebanon
Lebanon’s press has also been abuzz with plans for mass rallies. The pro- Syrian Ad-Diyar daily quoted organizers suggesting 100,000 people would participate in processions from refugee camps in Beirut, Sidon and Tyre to the village of Maroun al-Ras, the site of border clashes on this year’s “Nakba Day” that left more than 10 people dead.

As-Safir, a left-wing pan-Arab daily published in Beirut, reported that the Lebanese Army has no intention of allowing a repeat of last month’s disturbances.

“Senior military sources told As-Safir that the Lebanese Army has ‘good control of the border’ and will not allow anyone to tamper with security,” the paper said. Western sources said Maj.-Gen. Alberto Asarta, commander of the UNIFIL monitoring force in south Lebanon, would be traveling to Israel to discuss plans for dealing with the unrest, the paper reported.

UNIFIL spokesman Neeraj Singh told Beirut’s English-language Daily Star newspaper the force had no official confirmation so far about the march in its area of operations. He added that it was the Lebanese Army’s responsibility to secure the safety of protesters, “although we always stand ready to assist the LAF [the Lebanese Armed Forces], if they so request.”

A Lebanese military source told the paper the LAF might keep protesters from approaching the border altogether.

“The army has reservations about allowing protesters to reach the border,” he reportedly said. “We will not allow a repeat of what happened on Nakba Day, in terms of the killings of Palestinians.”

The same report quoted a senior Fatah commander in Lebanon saying a peaceful rally would proceed from the coastal town of Nakoura, across the border from Rosh Hanikra, to the Shi’ite village of Khiam, 4 km. north of Metull

CRISIS IN EGYPT

Egypt’s currency has declined by only about 6% since January, despite substantial capital flight, due to market intervention by the central bank, but the rapid drawdown of reserves is unsustainable.

At this rate Egypt will be broke by September.

Egypt imported $55 billion worth of goods in 2009, but exported only $29 billion of goods. With the jump in food and energy prices, the same volume of imports would cost considerably more. Egypt closed the 2009 trade gap with about $15 billion in tourist revenues, and about $8 billion of remittances from Egyptian workers abroad. But tourism today is running at a fraction of last year’s levels, and remittances are down by around half due to expulsion of Egyptian workers from Libya. Even without capital flight, Egypt is short perhaps $25 billion a year.

Price controls and currency depreciation have made it more profitable for wholesalers – including some employees of state companies – to export rice and cooking oil illegally. According to the daily al-Ahram, hoarding of rice by wholesalers has pushed up the price of the grain by 35% this year, while 200 containers per day are sold to Turkey and Syria.

“What is happening,” the newspaper claims, is that that traders are storing basic items such as rice and barley, hoarded in barns and in large quantities, and are reluctant to send it to the rice mills in order to raise the price of this strategic commodity”. The al-Ahram report, headlined, “Conspiracy to Monopolize Rice,” demands physical inspection of containers leaving Egyptian ports.
The rest of the story is predictable. Once the government relies on young men with guns to police its merchants, hoarding will only get worse. The Egyptian revolution has cracked down on the commercial elite that ran the country’s economy for the past 60 years, and the elite will find ways to transfer as much of its wealth to safety as it can. The normal chain of distribution will break down and “revolutionary committees” will take control of increasingly scarce supplies. Farmers won’t get fuel and fertilizer, and domestic supplies will fail.

The Egyptian government will go to the International Monetary Fund and other aid agencies for loans – the government reportedly will ask for $7 billion to tide things over – and foreign money at best will buy a few months’ respite. The currency will collapse; the government will print IOUs to tide things over; and the Egyptian street will reject the IOUs as the country reverts to barter.

 

EGYPT WIL ACTUALLY STARVE

It will look like the Latin American banana republics, but without the bananas. That is not meant in jest: few people actually starved to death in the Latin inflations. Egypt, which imports half its wheat and a great deal of the rest of its food, will actually starve.

Revolutions don’t only kill their children. They kill a great many ordinary people. The 1921 famine after the Russian civil war killed an estimated five million people, and casualties on the same scale are quite possible in Egypt as well. Half of Egyptians live on $2 a day, and that $2 is about to collapse along with the national currency, and the result will be a catastrophe of, well, biblical proportions.  (Spengler must know, it was not the revolution here, it was the war on the Russian baby workers state and blockade which caused the famine of 1921, 1922 and later. Bin Laden’s death gives Mr. Obama a chance to underscore the belief among many administration officials that the terror leader’s relevance had already begun to diminish during the so-called Arab Spring. Mr. Obama, who has made outreach to the Muslim world a cornerstone of his presidency, plans to describe the Islamic world as at a crossroads, said U.S. officials, making the case that bin Laden represented a failed approach of the past while populist movements brewing in the Middle East and North Africa represent the future.

Mr. Rhodes said timing of the speech remains in flux but Mr. Obama could deliver it before leaving on a five-day trip to Europe on May 23. The White House is already telegraphing the message of the coming speech to the Islamic world by placing American diplomats on Arab television and radio, according to U.S. officials.

 

ALL OBAMA ROADS LEADING INTO ANTISEMITISM

The White House is still debating, however, whether Mr. Obama should lay out a concrete plan for revitalizing the stalled Arab-Israeli peace process.

Many Arab governments have been pressing Mr. Obama to publicly outline his own parameters for the creation of an independent Palestinian state as a way to exert more pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who visits Washington next week. These diplomats said the Mideast’s democratic surge is raising expectations among their own populations for an end to the decades-old Arab-Israeli conflict.

White House officials said they are still reassessing the monumental changes in the Middle East and whether an aggressive U.S. push to resume peace talks would likely be successful.

Last week, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas forged a unity government with the militant group Hamas, which the U.S. and European Union designate a terrorist group. Israeli officials have already cited Hamas’s role in the Palestinian Authority as the reason why Mr. Netanyahu is unlikely to unveil any major new overtures to the Palestinians during his Washington trip.

“We need to sort through these issues as we consider the next steps on a peace process,” Mr. Rhodes said. The May 20 Obama-Netanyahu meeting “is a chance for the U.S. and Israel to review the full range of issues, from Iran to the regional change to the peace process.”

Arab officials and Mideast peace advocates say there are major risks for the U.S. and Israel in delaying a return to talks.

Mr. Abbas is pressing the United Nations to recognize an independent Palestinian state during the September gathering of the General Assembly. He has specifically cited his frustration with the lack of progress in negotiations with Mr. Netanyahu, as well as the rising expectations among his own people as a result of the Arab Spring.

 

J STREET TRAITORS

“There’s clearly a lot going on in the region, and there’s a case to be made and some are making it, that now is not the time,” said Jeremy Ben-Ami, founder of J-Street, a U.S. lobbying group that advocates Washington laying out its own peace plan, something Israel’s government opposes. “But we do believe that the only way to avoid U.N. action on a Palestinian state in a unilateral kind of way is for either the president or prime minister to put forward” a peace plan.

A number of lawmakers have cited Hamas’s new alliance with Mr. Abbas as reason for the White House to move slowly in restarting the peace process. Mr. Netanyahu is scheduled to address a joint session of Congress during his Washington visit as well the annual conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the U.S.’s most powerful pro-Israel lobby.

Avigdor Lieberman, Israel’s foreign minister, on Tuesday broke with Israel’s policy of keeping quiet on the regional turmoil, saying the international community’s response to repression of demonstrations in Syria, Lybia and Yemen has been “inconsistent” and “confusing.” In remarks delivered before Mr. Netanyahu’s scheduled White House visit, Mr. Lieberman added that the confusion sends a “damaging message to the people of the Middle East, and further erodes the path to peace, security and democracy for our region.”

Mr. Obama is also scheduled to meet Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Washington next week. The Arab monarch has been at the forefront of Mideast leaders calling for the U.S. to impose its own peace plan on the Israelis and Palestinians. Jordan’s population is 60% Palestinian, and the king has faced his own popular protests in recent months.

Last night I made this study of the situation, thinking over many things associated with the killing of Bin Laden. Everything I read this morning, especially a fabulous Debka report, tends to bolster my views of last night

 

KILLING OF BIN LADEN

Many times we have seen the US performing theatre on the world stage. All governments do this  but there are so many voices to the American ruling elite that it is very suited to one branch saying one thing, another a slight nuance different, and so on

 

This was particularly the case in the early stages of the destruction of Yugoslavia, when the US elites were making it appear Germany and others were making the running.

 

But when it came to the breaking up of planned putative agreements there was the US in the key, sometimes covert, role. This is not anti-American, this is observance of fact. Note I am never anti American, I base all on the defence of the basic rights associated with the First Amendment and with the gains of the Great Revolution.

 

Also remember there is the state, and then there is the state within the state.

 

Chomsky is right in one respect: Of course they knew Bin Laden was living there for 5 years, with his kids going to school etc.

 

The terrible Bin Laden crimes, not only of 9.11, but of the killings in London, Madrid, Africa (2 states), has given rise to a huge militarisation in the world

 

Islam was strengthened by the removal of Saddam, bitterest enemy on the planet to Iran.

 

How many times have Cameron and Sarkozy referred to saving the civilians or “his own people” from Muammar Gadhafi, all a lie.

We asked the simple question immediately re the Bin Laden killing: Why Now?

 

We are not always, perhaps often, right but that was indeed a key question. So we continue on this key theme in relation to the elimination of Bin Laden: why Now?

 

THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT WESTERN CAPITALISM RULES THE WORLD HAND IN HAND WITH ISLAM

That is the key concept to be kept in mind on everything, including the Bin Laden kill

 

It is terribly damaging to the American people for Pamela Geller to shout “Go Seals Go”

 

This is not American patriotism on the part of Pamela, this is a complete mental block on the dangers to us all, but especially the dangers to Jews, which comes from this overall capitalism sharia alliance

 

To answer Pamela: Who needs Bin Laden and his grizzly headcutters any more, when Islam is poised with the Muslim Brotherhood and their Sharia Laws in place in so many countries today, as a result of the laughably named “Arab Spring”

 

REALITY OF THE CALIPHATE PROMOTED BY THE WEST

Sharia Law is now a feature in all of these Arab countries, especially:

 

Egypt

Tunisia

Libya

Yemen

Algeria, threatened

Saudi Arabia, threatened

Lebanon

Gaza, with Hamas from there controlling the PA

Syria is a case of from the pan into the fire

Iran, already decided

 

IN ALL OF THE ABOVE THE COMING OF THE SALAFISTS TO POWER, AND IF NOT POWER THEN KEY INFLUENCE, HAS BEEN DRIVEN FORWARD BY THE “WEST”

The kill of Bin Laden is surely part of that.

 

THE “KILL” OF BIN LADEN, BY THE “SEALS”, IS PUTTING THE CALIPHATE INTO PLACE, ACTUALLY!

Who needs Bin Laden? Not Sharia, it is far better without Bin laden now. In fact his martyrdom fits the Sharia bill perfectly.

 

Bin Laden was the man of yesterday. The Caliphate, a project of the US and the West, has been assembled in Cairo, even as the friend of the West and opponent of Sharia awaits trial and possible execution by these Salafists, which Nasser fought and which Mubarak fought.

 

Certainly a turning point!

 

ISRAELI LEADERS ARE FRIGHTENED LITTLE BUNNY RABBITS

In the face of this at every stage the Israeli and Jewish elite have been like frightened little bunny rabbits caught in the headlights.

 

But they must fight! Even this cowardly Israeli leadership must fight! Because they are also facing wipe-out in the Middle East and the ending of Israel!

 

At every point Obama has been underestimated, especially by leaders like Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer.

 

Obama is not just some “Leftist” schooled by Rashidi and Said. As soon as the Media swung behind Obama he had the power of the US in his hands, and still has.

What Pamela and Robert leave out is the issue of state power, Obama has that state power at his finger tips, and if Pamela and Robert do not waken up to this reality, long ago enunciated by Lenin no less, they will be closed down by Obama, and worse. If the Srebrenic Lie could be spun, then so could that happen.

 

There has been much talk about Obama playing golf on the morning of the Bin Laden killing but so bloody what!

 

The fact is that the killing of Bin laden falls right into the Obama perspective, where the “moderate” (he argues) Muslim Brotherhood is promoted in the Middle East, and Hamas as part of this Muslim Brotherhood is also promoted, not by Obama directly, but by the new Egypt in lieu of Obama (shades agin of Yugoslavia US deceit).

 

MILITARY AND BROTHERHOOD ARE SEPARATE, BUT WILL UNITE TO TRY TO DESTROY ISRAEL

The Egyptian military which now rules is still the same military of Nasser, the same interests, their own essentially. So a collision with the Muslim Brotherhood will eventually come.

 

There is one foil which they have, however. That is to begin the elimination of the Jewish state of Israel.

 

Even here it will not be straight forward for these anti-Semites, including Obama. (IN DISCUSSING THESE ISSUES WE TEND TO FORGET, BUT JARED ISRAEL IS CORRECT, THE WEST IS THE DOMINANT PARTNER IN THIS EVIL ALLIANCE)

 

At what point will the American people begin to really suss out Obama, that he is essentially an anti-Semite, that he hates Israel, he hates all Israeli leaders bar none, that he is a Muslim Brotherhood man just as much as Rashidi or Said

Actually polls do show the American ordinary people do have Obama on Israel pretty well “sussed” but as of yet it is an unorganised force, and the Fascist Islam supporting “Left” keeps the working class back

 

Pamela Geller, however,  and her wonderful website is hardly likely to stand by and do nothing on this.

 

And so the struggle against Obama will go on.

 

THE KEY CONCEPT, ISLAM AND CAPITALISM HAVE JOINED FORCES

The key issue is to understand that the interests of western capitalism and the interests of Islam imperialism actually have come together at this point

 

What Geller has got to understand is that she deals with a corrupt system. She needs to reflect, that there is another history to socialism other than Pol Pot, North Korea, or Stalinism. She needs to stop calling Chomsky a leftist. That just displays her ignorance of history. There are idealists within American democracy, inspired by their Great Revolution, but that idealism must surely today be tinged with the realism associated with a system which is utterly decadent, as Jared Israel so ably shows in his exposure of the lies being spun about Egypt by The New York Times. Pamela too must change.

 

Time to make decisions. We are going to build a League of Trotskyists. Time to come forward, speak now, or die slowly.

This really is a time when leadership becomes a key issue. We on 4international do not have all the answers, and will never even think that we have, but we do believe in the working class and in working class youth, and we do believe that the best of the nationalities will come forward into this struggle

BIN LADEN KILLING…WHO TO BELIEVE ANYMORE…PLEASE STUDY THE SITUATION IN EGYPT

The situation following the killing of Bin Laden is becoming increasingle difficult to pin down.

This is because we cannot at all rely for information on the media.

Alex Jones has one version of conspiracy, hich is being picked up by people like Allen on Talk Radio Europe and spun out there, obviously to grow the listener base as a commercial station.

I ask all of our readers to immediately turn to the study which Jared Israel of www.tenc.net is making of the lies of the New York Times re Egypt, and to read this carefully, making notes for your own benefit

Nasrallah hints at Hizballah’s access to anti-air missiles

Hizballah’s secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah declared Monday, Feb. 16 that his terrorist organization is fully entitled to arm itself with every kind of weapon “including anti-air missiles in its struggle against Israel.”

For two years, all his speeches have been delivered by video link – never live. DEBKAfile reported earlier that sophisticated air defense missile batteries capable of attack Israeli warplanes and helicopters were poised in depots on the Syrian-Lebanese border for delivery to Hizballah.

Nasrallah did not confirm or deny that delivery had taken place. Our sources add that Israel recently warned Syria that the delivery of ground-to-air missiles to Hizballah would represent the crossing of a red line.

Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak said earlier this month that such weapons “would change the strategic balance and force Israel to act.”

This of course has got to make all socialists who defend Israel very angry indeed. It is just weeks ago that Fascist Leftists were parading around with Antisemites of Islamofascist terrorist organizations carrying placards that go right back tot he Nazi propaganda against the Jews pre Holocaust.
